A huge collection of links for the British theatre. This site is a good place to start any search of the internet, whether you are looking for sites on individual plays or for individual playwrights. Each link is accompanied by a detailed review of the site.

English Server Drama Collection
This site contains a collection of e-texts of original plays and screenplays, criticism and links to other sites concerned with theatre. It publishes both classic and contemporary works and also has a number of essays of drama criticism although these mostly relate to George Bernard Shaw.

The National Theatre
Contains information on current education workshops and INSET for teachers. The Talkback discussion forum also provides an opportunity for students to try their hand as a critic of current National Theatre productions.

Playwrights on the Web
A database of contemporary playwrights and their websites or personal e-mail addresses. This site also contains a link to the Internet Theatre Bookshop where you can order from over 50,000 plays and 3,000 rare or out of print plays.

The World of London Theatre - 1660-1800
This site not only contains a number of essays on English playwrights of this period but also has a wealth of contextual information. This includes a timeline, portraits and pictures of London theatres and contemporary sources writing about aspects of London life.
